The Fox News and Friends Morning Show contacted us and asked if we'd like to be on the show via satellite. Again, we're not looking for all the press and attention, but it's fun and we'll probably never have an opportunity like this again. We're just having fun :)
They sent a limo service to pick us up and drive us to Fox Studios in Atlanta Georgia (about 2 hours away). Our driver was this awesome old guy named Mac. He was an awesome story teller and talked our ears off! He's also hard of hearing, so that made the ride more interesting :)
We got to the studio and two really nice ladies told us how everything was going to work. One of them even did our makeup! Haha! That was entertaining! Hollie loved it and I felt violated :)
We sat down in front of a background and had our mics hooked up. We had a big camera in front of our faces with a little monitor over to our left. We had 2 minutes until we went on air when... Hollie's mic stopped working. She's notorious for breaking electronics just by being around them. I swear she's magnetic. She and I started to worry, but the producer was really calm as she flipped a bunch of switches and unplugged a ton of cables. Literally 15 seconds before we went live, her mic started working again!
The funny thing is that there's a 5 second delay between the conversations, but a 15 second delay between us and the video feed to our left (which we could see in a mirror behind the camera). It threw me off! Our smiles were so strange because we didn't know when we were on camera and when we were off!
Hollie did amazing and was super cute! My voice was cracking like crazy! Puberty takes forever! All in all, it was fun to get picked up by a limo and be on TV. Never did we expect that! Oh and on the way home, I got car sick and threw up in the limo! Hollie sent out a tweet and told everybody! And you call me mean! haha!
Here's the interview mixed with our own behind the scenes footage!
Just wanted to say i think both of you are awesome.
@hollie You rock young woman. Your genuine expressing of emotion and connection to the moments that touch you are proof of a heart thats knows the love of creation.
I am and always have been touched by moments that make other people go WTF, Really? I cant even watch the Fox and The Hound. If someone puts on Muilon Rouge, I will start crying at the beginning because I already know the end. I will still watch the entire film. Hell when I was 25 and pokemon first came out I couldnt help but giggling and cry whenever Pikachu on being his awesome cute little self.
I dont know about you but cute things make me tear up. Its just makes ya so happy you cant help but do so.
We are both more emotionally healthy than anyone who finds it unusual that we do such things. It shows our full openness to life, joy, sadness and hope.
So,yeah great job being you. I am sure I dont have to say it, but never let anyone say your strange for it. If they do just let them know its much more strange that they have no emotion and smirk when faced with beauty or joy. Like its not good enough for them.
@Parker Thank you for sharing this part of your private personal life with the world. It is just this sort of real open emotion and awesome relationship dynamics that the world needs to see. Everytime we make someone else smile or make them feel good about who and what they are in a positive way we remove a little more evil from the world. While the fox was so terribly demeaning to you and your wife. I applaud your courage to be honest with yourself and the world about your life.
Good job man.
Fox News
Showed me once again that they suck, and should fire their entire production team and start over fresh. They know nothing about real people or in fact what is real.
The entire questioning line used is derogatory, accusatory and totally demeaning to you both. While it may seem well meant and light hearted, it comes off as heartless.
All the more reason why you both rock.
BTW, when you watch this do you both laugh your butts off at yourself? I mean if I had a video of me smiling that big, not blinking and staring straight ahead like this I would die giggling at me.
Like two deer joyfully awaiting the arrival of a semi truck.
Cheers!!
